Dance India Dance is an Indian dance competition show which gets immense popularity among the youth of India. The show airs on channel Zee TV which is produced by UTV Software Communication. The show is the national TV version of the Zee Bangla dance reality show Dance Bangla Dance which also has Mithun Chakraborty as the Grand master. The first episode of the show was premiered on 30^th January 2009 which was hosted by Tarana Raja; since the 2^nd season has been hosted by actors Saumya Tandon and Jay Bhanushali.

Format of the show

The show features format where dancers from a variety of styles enter open auditions held in Indian metropolitan cities to showcase their unique style and talents and, if allowed to move forward, then are put through mega-audition rounds of auditions to test their ability to adapt to different styles.

At the end of mega audition, top 18 dancers are chosen as finalists who move on to compete in the competition’s main phase where they will perform solo, duet and group dance numbers in a variety of styles in competition for the votes of the broadcast viewing audience which, combined with the input of a panel of judges, determines which dancers will advance to the next stage from week to week. The show has won several Television Awards for “Most Popular Dance Reality Show”.

All the contestants compete with each other to won the title of winner of “Dance India Dance” or “India’s Best Dancer” instead of this the winner of DID receive a cash prize of Rs. 50 Lakh.

Dance India Dance Season 1 Winner: Salman Yusuf Khan (2009)

The very first season of Dance India Dance was won by the “Salman Yusuf Khan” from the team of Remo ke Rangeeley . The first show of the season was premiered on Zee TV on 30^th January 2009 while the finale was schedule on 30^th of May 2009.

The show was hosted by Tarana Raja and the mentors or judge of the show were “Geeta Kapoor” “Terence Lewis” & “Remo D’Souza” while the Mithun Chakraborty was the Grand Master in the show.

Salman Khan becomes the emerge winner of the show and Alisha Singh from the team of “Terence Ki Toli” become the first runner up of the show.

Dance India Dance Season 2 Winner: Shakti Mohan (2010)

The second season of DID is back in year 2010 and this time it was hosted by the Saumya Tandon and Jay Bhanushali. The finale episode of the show was premiered on 23^rd April 2010 which was won by the Shakti Mohan from the team of “Terence Ki Toli” while Dharmesh Yelnawade become the first runner up from the team of “Geeta Ki Gang”. The name of 3 judges and their group of the show are as follows:

Dance India Dance Season 3 Winner: RajaSmita Kar (2011)

The show got the immense popularity season after season and back in 2011 with its season 3. Once again the show was hosted by Saumya Tandon and Jay Bhanushali. The grand finale of the show was premiered on 24^th December 2011 on Zee TV which was won by Rajsmita Kar from the team of “Geeta Ki Gang”.

This young lady was from the Odisha state and won several hearts via his performance it was tough competition as Pradeep Gurung become the first runner of the show. The panel of the judges were the same as previous season and their name are mentioned below.

Dance India Dance Season 4 Winner: Shyam Yadav (2014)

Dance India Dance season 4 is back after a long time. In the 4^th edition of DID there were no judges from the previous panel and have fresh faces in the form of contestant as well as judges while the Grand Master of the show was same “Mithun Chakraborty”.

Shyam Yadav from the team of Mudassar Ki Mandli becomes the emerge winner of Dance India Dance season 4 while Manan Sachdeva from the team of (Shruti Ke Shandaar) becomes the first runner up of the show. The name of the 4^th season judges are as follows:

• Mudassar Khan (Mudassar Ki Mandli)
• Shruti Merchant (Shruti Ke Shandar)
• Feroz Khan (Feroz Ki Fauj)

Dance India Dance Season 5 Winner: Proneeta Swargiary (2015)

The season 5 of DID was aired on TV from 27^th June 2015 which was hosted by Jay Bhanushali. In season 5 once again new faces of judges which names are mentioned below with their group name. Proneeta Swargiary becomes the emerge winner of Dance India Dance season 5 in 2015 and won the cash prize as well as the title of India’s best dancer.

• Gaiti Siddiqui (Gaiti Ke Gangster)
• Puneet J Pathak ( Puneet Ke Panthers)

Please note Puneet Pathak is the former contestants of Dance India Dance who becomes the judge in season 5 of Dance India Dance which is just because of his own talent and hard work such big achievement by this guy.

Dance India Dance Season 6 Winner: Sanket Gaonkar (2018)

The 6th version of the show was aired on television after 3 years of gap. The  6th season of DID was started on 5th November 2017 and total aired on 16 weeks. The total number of episode of season 6 was 31 and the grand finale was premiered on 18th February 2018 which was won by the Sanket Gaonkar, while the Sachin Sharma becomes the first runner up.

Sanket Gaonkar was in Mini Pradhan and name of her team was “Mini Ke Masterblasters” Sanket lift up the trophy and won the golden hat as well along with the cash prize.

Dance India Dance Season 7 Winner: The Unreal Crew – North Ke Nawabs (2019)

The 7th edition of the show was aired on 22nd June 2019 and this time the format of the show was totally different in earlier season of Dance Indian Dance there was single contestants but this time there team were participating in the show.

The grand finale was schedule as on 29th September 2019 which was won by the Unreal Crew- North Ke Nawab, while the runner team was I AM Hip-Hop South Ke Thalaivas. The grand finale was very tough as usual and it’s not possible for judges to decide the winner and after the public vote count Unreal Crew lift up the trophy and become the emerge winner of the show and also won the title to become first team to win Dance India Dance show.
